Ackworth Road Runners – Committee Meeting Summary, 4th March 2026

The March committee meeting was held at The New Inn, Walton, with twelve members present.

On the financial side, the 2025 accounts passed review and HMRC corporate tax records are being submitted with assistance from Ian Vogan. Raffle proceeds from awards night are to be distributed to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the MS Trust. The Costco membership will not be renewed.

Membership stands at 230 renewals, with 112 still outstanding. Members are reminded to wear club colours when running in races where the England Athletics discount has been claimed.

The proposed new WordPress website, presented by Bill Winder, was enthusiastically approved by the committee.

On the events front, the Priory 10k is confirmed for Wednesday 15th July (with 2k, 5k and 10k distances), and the Ken Bingley 10k for Sunday 16th August. C25k is underway with good early interest. The Menopause Café event on 2nd March was a success with around 35 attendees.

The committee voted unanimously to keep the 2026 GP schedule unchanged, with a review before 2027 planning begins.
