Ackworth Road Runners Volunteer League
At Ackworth Road Runners, our club is powered by people.
From leading training runs and organising races, to marshalling events and supporting behind the scenes, volunteers are what make everything we do possible. To recognise and celebrate that contribution, we’re proud to introduce our Volunteer League.
What is the Volunteer League?
The Volunteer League is a fun and inclusive way to reward members who give their time to support the club. Every time you volunteer, you’ll earn points that contribute to your position in the league table.
Whether you’re a regular helper or trying something new for the first time, every contribution counts.
How it works
- Members earn points for different types of volunteering
- Points are tracked throughout the season
- A live league table shows how everyone is doing
- Bonus points may be awarded for key roles or major events
We’ll recognise achievements along the way, with shoutouts, awards, and occasional prizes.
Why get involved?
Volunteering is a great way to:
- Give back to the club
- Meet more members and feel part of the community
- Develop new skills and confidence
- Help make our events safe, enjoyable, and successful
And now, with the Volunteer League, there’s a little extra motivation and friendly competition too.
Everyone can take part
You don’t need any experience to get involved — just a willingness to help. There are plenty of roles to suit everyone, from one-off race day support to ongoing roles within the club.
Get started
Keep an eye on club communications for volunteering opportunities, or speak to a committee member to find out how you can get involved.
Let’s celebrate the people who make Ackworth Road Runners such a great club — and have a bit of fun along the way!
